CLIENT STORY / Easy Panels

A clearer route from inspiration to the right products.

For a catalogue spanning wall panels, acoustic panels, flooring, decking and the finishing details that connect them, a better store starts with a better structure. ONX is planning the next Easy Panels experience around product discovery, sample ordering and the different needs of homeowners and trade buyers.

The business

Easy Panels combines online retail with physical showrooms in Bournemouth and Aberdare. Customers may arrive with a room in mind, a preferred finish, a product specification or a need to see a sample before buying. The store needs to support each of those starting points without losing the detail that helps people choose.

The challenge

The September 2026 audit mapped 224 products, 95 collections, 98 articles and 21 content pages. The task is to make this extensive catalogue easier to navigate while retaining established product addresses, product identities, reviews and useful editorial content. A visual redesign alone would leave the harder buying decisions unresolved.

The ONX role

Our role is to translate that inventory into a practical Shopify implementation plan: a clearer information architecture, more deliberate buying journeys and a defined boundary between native theme features and functionality that needs apps.

The work, in detail.

01 /

Find products by the way people shop

Map product families, room inspiration, finishes and accessories into an understandable navigation system. Plan native collection lists and product rails that help people move from a broad category to a relevant selection.

02 /

Connect samples, panels and finishing details

Plan sample access and a proposed Build your kit journey so that product exploration connects with the materials needed to complete a project. Calculator, bundles and visual sample features are being scoped as app modules.

03 /

Support consumer and trade journeys

Define trade access alongside the consumer experience. The planned B2B portal requires validation of app capabilities, Shopify plan, checkout behaviour and client-approved commercial rules before implementation.

04 /

Protect the catalogue during change

Retain existing URL handles, product and variant identities and review relationships. Audit homepage links and content coverage so that a new layout does not silently remove useful routes through the store.

How the pieces connect.

The work starts with a current-site inventory, then compares existing journeys with the proposed structure. Native capabilities and app requirements are assessed separately, with technical and commercial dependencies identified before build decisions are finalised.
